Daily Commercial, Leesburg, Florida, March 4, 2011: Johnnie M. Jenkins, 88, of Leesburg, Florida, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011. He was born August 9, 1922 in New Paris, Ohio. He was a quality control inspector for the US Government. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed fishing, working outdoors in his garden and was very involved with his church. He also worked as a car salesman at Morgan Auto Sales. He was a member of Leesburg Church of the Nazarene and served in the US Navy for 3 years. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Jenkins of Bedminster, NJ; sons, Ronnie Jenkins (Mark Gleesing) of Franklin, NC; Koby (Lourdes) Jenkins of Naples, FL; 4 grandchildren; and a sister, Alta Dwiggins of Liberty, IN. He was preceded in death by wife, Rosemary Jenkins of 57 years; parents, John and Ida Mae Jenkins and brother Lawrence Jenkins. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will also take place at Leesburg Church of The Nazarene on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with a service following at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Shelp officiating. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leesburg Church of The Nazarene, 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Leesburg, FL. 34748.
