The Hawk Eye, Burlington, Iowa, December 24, 2004: Kenton Clark Gills, 57, of Fort Madison, died at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born Feb. 23, 1947, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Cecil Randolph and Doris Dee Garretson Gill. On April 22, 2000, he married Janice Luann Schmidt Bevelheimer in Las Vegas. Mr. Gill worked as a machinist for D.W. Products in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Burlington High School and attended the University of Iowa. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Loree Pavlicek of Hiawatha; two nieces; one nephew; and his stepmother, Betty Gill, of Pilot Point, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The graveside service for Mr. Gill will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Schaller Cemetery in Schaller, with the Revs. Rob Robinson and Charlie Sander officiating. Memorials have been established for PAWS and Fort Madison Library building fund.
