Press-Register, Mobile, Alabama, Saturday, January 25, 2014: Thomas Malcolm Aycock - an 88 year-old native of Stillwater, OK, former resident of Port Republic, VA, and current resident of Mobile passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. Mr. Aycock was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired mechanical engineer. He was a longtime member of Springhill Avenue Temple. Mr. Aycock is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Clare Metzger Aycock; children, Dr. Thomas J. Aycock (Beth), Michael B. Aycock (Sandy), and Sue A. Snipes (Harmon); step-children, Elsa Gaskell (Ed), Harriet Simon, and Leah Simon; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his faithful canine companion, "Lucky." Graveside services will be held in Springhill Avenue Temple Cemetery on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Springhill Avenue Temple, 1769 Spring Hill Ave., Mobile, AL 36607.
