The Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, Saturday, December 28, 2002: Ruth K. Kirkpatrick, 93, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Tom Conry, of Dyersville, Iowa, formerly of 2620 Fulton St., died at 3:16 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a parish scripture wake service at 6:30 p.m. She was born on Aug. 25, 1909, in Clermont, Iowa, daughter of Timothy and Kathryn (Duggan) Foley. Ruth was born and raised in Clermont, Iowa and has resided in Dubuque most of her life. On July 30, 1930, she married Lloyd Kirkpatrick at St. Patrick's Church. She was employed at Clarke College for more than 25 years and was a member of St. Patrick's Parish. Surviving are her children: Marilyn Kirkpatrick of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Lee (Barbara) Kirkpatrick of Dubuque, Janet (Thomas) Conry of Dyersville, Iowa; 11 grandchildren: Mark (Norma) Engling, Alan Engling, Beverly Pomponi, Kevin (Dayna) Conry, Kyle Conry, Kerri (Matt) Alleman, Kelli (Robb) Harter, Mary Jo (Gary) Anderson, Kathleen (Bruce) Neyens, Karen (John) Rogan and Michael (Carolyn) Kirkpatrick Also surviving are 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years on Nov. 1, 2000, Lloyd; her parents; two grandsons, Patrick Engling and James Kirkpatrick; three sisters, Irene Mock, Grace Murphy and Sister Timothy Foley; and an infant brother. Memorials may be given to the Sisters of the Visitation, 2950 Kaufmann Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001. Thank-you to Hospice of Delaware County and Clementine Young.
