Missouri Death Certificate # 29408: George Washington Ham, residing about 5 miles N.W. of Poplar Bluff, Butler Co., MO, died Sept 8 1949 in the Doctor's Hospital, Poplar Bluff, MO at the age of 51 years. He was born in Butler Co., MO on 27 Nov. 1897 to Gilbert Ham & Sarah Buchannan. He was a farmer by trade & married (cert does not ask for wife's name). He was never in the armed forces. He died of cardiac failure due to myocarditis & diabetes mellitis, diagnosed about a month prior. Mrs. Blanche Ham, RFD 1, Poplar Bluff, MO was the informant of his personal information. Burial in Rombauer Cemetery by J. T. Phelps undertaking.

Ham, 51 year old Butler County resident, died at Doctors Hospital at 11 last night after a short illness. He was born in Butler County Nov. 27, 1897, and had lived here all his life. He leaves his widow, Blanche Ham, four children, Donald, Norma Jean, Christine and Louise, all residing at th home; two brothers, Sam and John of Poplar Bluff, Route 1, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Joiner of Poplar Bluff. The body was taken to the Phelps parlors but will be returned to the family home five miles north of the city at 4 this afternoon. Funeral plans had not been completed early this afternoon.
