Alma Record, Alma, Michigan, Friday, August 14, 1891, Page 7, Col. 2: Found dead in the Road. Ambrose Phelps, an old and respected citizen was found dead Tuesday afternoon on the road leading to Quinnesec, one mile from Norway. He left Norway after dinner with a saddled bronco. It is not known whether he was thrown from his bronco or died from excessive heat. He was subject to heart disease.
