Masters, 74, 709 3rd St., S.E., Oelwein, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brant Funeral Chapel with burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Mr. Masters, a retired Chicago Great Western car inspector foreman, died at Mercy hospital Tuesday afternoon. He had been a resident of Oelwein 46 years. Survivors include his widow, Effie; eight sons, Glenn, Delbert and Wayne, Oelwein; Ralph, Japan; Donald, New York; Jesse Jr., Illinois; Howard, Waterloo and Raymond, Illinois; five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Olsen, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Florence Spece, Independence; Mrs. Dolores Newton, Des Moines; Mrs. Norma Schuller, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Velma Marvin, Cedar FAlls. Also surviving are two brothers, Roy, Arkansas and Lloyd, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Homer Miller, Illinois and Mrs. Alberta Smeiser, Oregon, and 47 grandchildren. Body will lit in state at Brant Funeral Home after 6 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).
