The Peoria Journal Star, Peoria, Illinois, September 3, 1997: Toulon -- Ethel D. Ingels, 87, of 219 W. Thomas died at 10:26 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 1997, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee. Born May 26, 1910, in Kewanee to James Wilson and Flora Mae Motley Taylor, she married Corliss S. Ingels on Oct. 28, 1934, in LaFayette. He died March 6, 1987. She also was preceded in death by one grandson and an infant brother. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Rosella) Schumacher of LaRose, Mrs. Harold (Susan) Landrus of Georgetown, Tenn., and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Rathbun of Colfax; two sons, Corliss "Jock" of LaFayette and Roger of Galva; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Atwell of Kewanee and Mrs. Robert (Frances) Knopke of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Richard Taylor of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews. She was a resident of Henry from 1934 to 1956 when she moved to Toulon. She was a volunteer at Toulon Health Care Center. She was a 50-year member and former Worthy Matron of the Henry Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Toulon and its Ladies Circle. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at her church. The Rev. Robert Joy will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at DeBolt-Kidd Funeral Home. Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery in LaFayette. Memorials may be made to her church or any charity.
