She was born in Arapaho, CO June 13, 1920. Caught in the Dust bowl in the 1930's she moved with her family to Oklahoma and attended Moore High School where she lettered 4 years playing basketball. She received certification to teach during the war years, and was later married to D. H. Lunow in 1946. She was very active in the Republican party, an election board member, and was a Sunday school worker for many years.
