Unkown Wyoming Newspaper, July 1992: Millicent L. Smith of Ten Sleep, age 88, died July 11, 1992, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Mont. Mrs. Smith was born April 24, 1904, at Lisbon, New Hampshire the daughter of Almon Henery and Ida Mae (Clark) Young. She was raised and schooled at Bridger, Mont. She then attended the Deaconess School of Nursing at Bozeman, Mont., where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked at Forsythe, Mont., for a short time before moving to Basin to work at the Basin Hospital in 1926. On November 24, 1929, she married Joe E. Smith at Bridger, Mont. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Ten Sleep to ranch north of town. In 1964, they retired and moved into Ten Sleep. Mr. Smith died in 1977. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; a longtime member of the Methodist Womens Association; and a member of the Lower Norwood Community club. Her hobbies included reading, working in her garden and yard. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one infant daughter and by one brother. Survivors include a son, Edward E. Smith of Lovell, a daughter, Millicent Conley of Benton, Kentucky, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Ten Sleep Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Schaeffer of the Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gideons Society. Veile Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
