The Iowa Recorder, Greene, Butler Co., Iowa, 30 November 1949: Dies in Spokane. Mrs. Walter Behnke received a message Friday from Spokane, Washington telling of the death of her cousin Pryor Briscoe. Pryor was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Briscoe formerly of Greene. He was born in Pleasant Grove township in the year of 1884. He attended our public schools and later graduated from a business college in Mason City. He married Minnie Hanish of Garner and then moved to Spokane where he had fruit interests, and also a business. His father preceded him in death several years ago. His mother, Mrs. Hattie Sproul now resides in Long Beach, California. Pryor leaves to mourn his loss his mother, his wife, and a son and a daughter, also seven grandchildren. His funeral and burial will be in Spokane Tuesday November 29.
