Charles Smith Wilkins, 96, the last Confederate veteran on the roll of the Sull Ross Camp of U. C. V., at Denton, died at 6:25 a.m. Friday , at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Brent Jackson, 717 West Oak Street, Denton. Though he had been in feeble health for several years he had been critically ill only a few days, having been up until last week-end. He had been a prominent ranchman of Denton County until his retirement about 10 years ago, and was a large land owner.
