Memorial services were conducted Tuesday, for Judge George H. Bishop of the Placerville judicial district court. Judge Bishop, 57, suffered an ulcer complication on June 12 and was hospitalized until his death last Saturday. He had been appointed as judge of the district court in February, 1961, and was elected to the office last November for a six-year term. In the business community, Judge Bishop was associated since 1934 with the operation of the former Pacific Minerals Company slate mine operation at Chili Bar. In 1957 he became a co-partner in the ownership of the slate operation which became known as the Placerville Slate Products Co.
