County News, March 20, 1941: Miss Eliza Wilson, Pioneer, Is Buried. (From The Atlanta Journal) Adairsville, Ga.---Miss Eliza Wilson, 91, died at her home here of pneumonia. The daughter of Nicholas and Myrtis Wright Wilson, she was a native of Oglethorpe county and the descendant of a long line of early patriots. Her grandfather served in the American Revolution and her father fought for the Confederacy. During her last illness she distributed among her nieces valuable heirlooms of handwoven embroidered linens, handwrought candlesticks and the family records. Surviving are four nieces, Mrs. Belle Peacock and Mrs. Brewster Agee, of Cedartown; Mrs. G. E. Ellison, of Augusta, and Mrs. H. L. MacEwen, of Macon. Funeral services were held from Oothcalooga Baptist church, Sunday afternoon.Obituary from Digital Library of Georgia, Dlg.galileo.usg.edu.
