Lewis Kirkpatrick Thompson

El Paso Times, El Paso, Texas, May 5, 1999: Lewis K. Thompson, an Upper Valley farmer and active community member and volunteer, died Saturday (May 1, 1999). He served as president of the United Way twice and was on the board of the community foundation, Visiting Nurses Association, Salvation Army and Child Guidance Center. He was also a trustee with the YWCA, where he actively raised funds for the construction of the Brown Street Y. He was 89 and a longtime El Paso resident. Survivors include his wife, Josephine, his sons, Scott Thompson and Kirk Thompson and his granddaughter, Brooke Goldman. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Francis of the Hill Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to United Way of El Paso. Arrangements are by Harding Orr and McDaniel Funeral Home.
