Obituary from Wright Co., Monitor, Clarion, Wright Co., Iowa, 11 August 1955: Mrs. Chas. Nichols Dies Wednesday in D. M. Hospital. Mrs. Charles A. Nichols, 74, of Clarion died Wednesday morning at a hospital in Des Moines after a two year illness. Funeral services are pending but will be held in Jefferson and burial will be at Jefferson. Mrs. Nichols was born in Grant township northeast of Clarion and grew to womanhood here. After her first marriage she moved to West Band. At the death of her husband she moved to Jefferson where her parents were then living. Later she moved to Des Moines where she lived for 20 years. About 12 years ago she married Charles A. Nichols and moved to Clarion. She is survived by her husband and six children: Verle Hosier of Seattle, Wash., Walter Hosier of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Minnie Cooper of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Charlotte Julander of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Paul Lemon and Des Moines, one step-daughter, Mrs. Ottis Harris of Clarion; one sister Mrs. Nellie Struthers and Rolfe and one brother, Charles A. Smith of Des Moines.
