1920 U. S. Census Index shows Buben instead of Ruben F. Stanhope age 37, born in Kansas, living at Rosebud, Rosebud Co., Montana, Roll T625-975, page 5A, ED 118, Image 679. His family consists of wife Jannette, children, George L, Clifford D., Lulu M., Delbert C. , Nina and Ina. Nina and Ina were 1 year old twins.
On the 1930 U. S. Census of Pleasant Hill, Curry Co., New Mexico, Ruben appears with his wife Jeannette, and children Delbert C., Ina, Nina and William F. Ruben is a laborer in at a grain farm. Their daughter Lula is listed right after her parents. She is with her husband George J. Bell. He also works as a laborer at a grain farm.
Obituary from local paper of Guymon, Oklahoma: Stanhope Services Monday Afternoon. Funeral services for Ruben F. Stanhope, 72, well-known Texas county resident, were held Monday afternoon at the Church of God in Texhoma with Rev. Ethan Tilton officiating. Burial was in Texhoma cemetery with the Dawson Funeral home of Texhoma in charge. Stanhope died Saturday at a Guymon hospital. Survivors include his wife, Jeannette, three daughters, Mrs. Jeff Bell of Owens, Tex., and Mrs. Nina Curtiss and Mrs. Ralph Evans of Texhoma; and three sons C.B. Stanhope of Castro Valley, Calif., B.C. Stanhope of Midland, Tex., and W. T. Stanhope of Texhoma. Two sons preceded him in death. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. Stanhope was born May 10, 1881 in Kansas the son of Clarence and Laura Stanhope and was married on February 1, 1908 to Jeannette Thayer at Sydney, Mont. They moved to Texhoma in March, 1938.
