Dean, 77 years old, died this morning at 6:40 o'clock at his home in Berea following a long illness. He had been in poor health from a nervous disorder for several years. Two months ago pneumonia developed following shock caused by a fall and hastened his death. Mr. Dean was the only son of Alex Dean, of near Flat Lick, who died when his child was three years old. Mr. Dean's mother before her marriage, was Miss Martha hays and is now Mrs. Martha Click, of Berea. She is 98 years old. Mr. Dean is survived by his widow, who is herself seriously ill from complication following pneumonia; three sons, J. F. Dean and William Dean of Berea; G. E. Dean, of Clover Bottom; three daughters, Mrs. J. F. Smith, of Hindman; Mrs. Will Jones, of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Mitchell Reeves, of Richmond, and three half-brothers, James Click, of Kerby Knob, and Henry and Tom Click, in Berea. Funeral services will be held at the residence on Prospect street in Berea Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Berea cemetery.
