James Milton Owen

Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Thursday, April 19, 1917, Page 3, Col. 2 & 3: News reached here of the death of James M. Owen, which occurred Tuesday evening in Covington, where he had lived for the past ten years. Mr. Owen was born in this county, being a son of the late John Wesley Owen. His father died about 20 years ago, and his mother, Mrs. Paulina Owen, died about three years ago. Mr. Owen had been ill of cancer of the stomach, and for some time his condition had been critical.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Clemmie Webb, of Estill county, and four children, Ellis Webb, John Wesley, Ida May and Eulalia Owen. The following brothers and sisters survive: Hays Owen, H. C. Owen, W. R. Owen, of Clark county; Charles Owen, of Lexington; Mrs. James Stafford and Miss Mellie Owen, of Clark county; Mrs. Fount Finnell, of Lexington; Mrs. Jesse Tevis of Madison county, and Mrs. H. S. Bush, of this county. The funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 o'clock at the Owen Chapel in this county, and burial will take place in the Owen graveyard on the premises.
