Samuel and Tressie have been married 7 years. Tressie is the mother of 3 all of whom are currently living. The family is living on West Fourth Street.
On the 1910 U. S. Census of Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana, Samuel Briscoe, is listed as a prisoner of Sheriff Joseph Ratliff. Samuel was born in Indiana and is divorced.
Obituary from the Bloomington Evening World, Tuesday, May 25, 1937: Death Takes Sam Briscoe. Well-Known Resident Dies in Hospital. Samuel Briscoe, age 61, one of Bloomington's best known citizens and a resident of this city all of his life, died at 6:30 o'clock last night in Bloomington hospital. Death was caused by nephritis, inflammation of the kidney, from which he had been suffering for some time. He had not been well since two and a half years ago when he fractured his shoulder. His condition became critical Saturday, and he was taken to the hospital. Mr. Briscoe was born in Bloomington in April 1876, and spent his entire life here. He was a member of the Free Methodist church, which he joined a few weeks before his death. He made his home at 623 west Thirteenth street. He is survived by a daughter living in Ohio and a son. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Free Methodist church. According to Mr. Briscoe's request the services will be conducted by Attorney R. I. Black, who will be assisted by the Rev. F. W. Johnson. Burial will be in the United Presbyterian cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Free Methodist church. The body will lie in state at the Day funeral home until Wednesday morning when it will be taken to the church.
