Murphysboro Daily Independent, Murphysboro, Illinois, Wednesday, April 6, 1932, Page 12, Col. 5: Mrs. Laura Biby, wife of John c. Biby, passed away at her home Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Biby was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gassaway and was born in Galatia, Illinois, July 1853. Mrs. Biby was a member of the Baptist church. She married John C. Biby in 1877 and they lived around Carterville and Carbondale. In 1894 they moved to Pinckneyville. To this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters. All five children survive. Mrs. Mattie Clark of this city, Miss Mary Alice of Nashville, Tenn. Three sons Fred of Pinckneyville, John and Harry of Los Angeles, California. Funeral services were held at the Biby home Sunday at 2 p.m. with interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Rev. I. E. Miller preached the sermon.
