Stanley Charles Steponitis

Posted at findagrave.com: Stanley C. Steponitis, age 90, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Hospice House. Born on November 4, 1924 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Ignatius and Barbara (Jusis) Steponitis. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended local schools before being drafted into the military. Stanley served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II, while stationed in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged on December 24, 1945.
On August 8, 1953, he was united in marriage to Virginia Principe at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and 47 years of marriage before she passed away on August 2, 2001. On July 17, 2004, Stanley married Mary (Gifford) MacPherson at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, she preceded him in death on March 22, 2014.
He was employed with AMC/Chrysler Corp. for 26 years, retiring in 1986. Stanley was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, UAW Local #72 Retirees and the St. Mary’s Lutheran Church Friendly Center. He was an avid fisherman, he loved taking his boat out on the Madison and Kenosha County Lakes and also enjoyed gardening.
He will be deeply missed by his two sons, David (Sabina) and Lawrence Steponitis; a daughter, Barbara Schmitz; five grandchildren, Jonathon and Todd LaMothe, Christian Steponitis, Jade and Vaughn Schmitz and a great granddaughter, Nova Newberry. Stanley is further survived by Mary’s three children, Linda (Jim) Gifford, Scott (Beate Gersch) MacPherson and Judy MacPherson and 11 additional grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by several siblings.
Special thank you to the entire staff at both St. Joseph’s Home and Hospice House for their care and compassion, as well as, his step-grandson, Daniel Gifford, for helping Stanley care for his home. Service: Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7117 14th Avenue (73rd St. & Sheridan Rd.). Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for Mass. Entombment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
Visitation: A visitation will be held at the Piasecki Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI, on Friday, January 2nd from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorial: In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be appreciated by the family.
