He retired in 1986 from Eastern Airlines. An American history buff and descendant of Revolutionary War patriots, Jim read incessantly about U.S. and World History and took his family on annual vacations across the country to national historic sites. Jim's other sports passion was golf. He spent many days on the greens of the Azalea City Golf Course where he is remembered for having made a hole-in-one on the same hole with the same fellow golfers two different times. A Mobile Press Register article "Deja Vue" recounted the event. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Spring Hill Ave. United Methodist Church.
