Charles Darden "Dub" Mayo, 83, of Crenshaw, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at his home of an apparent heart attack. Mayo, born March 10, 1921 [1926], was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. Services were Monday at Hollywood Baptist Church in Sledge. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery. Rev. Roy Hartzell officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge. He was preceded in death by two sons, Raborn Frank Mayo and Stanley Darden Mayo; one sister Hazel Shepherd and his parents S.T. and Beaulah Bolen Mayo. Survivors include his wife Myrtle Hamblin Mayo of Crenshaw; three sons, Danny Dean Mayo of Southaven, Jerry Glenn Mayo and Leslie Dwight Mayo, both of Crenshaw; two brothers, Wayne Mayo and Ray Mayo, both of Marks; five sisters, Ethel Floyd of Tunica, Minnie Lee Sides of Horn Lake, Opal Dover of Crenshaw, Billie Fay Avant of Grenada and Betty Ann Collums of Crenshaw; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hollywood Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
