Artesia News, Artesia, New Mexico: Maxine Kirkpatrick, 82, of Artesia, N.M., a homemaker, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, in Andrews. Services were Wednesday at First Christian Church in Artesia with the Revs. Gerald Harper and Leslie Gross officiating. Burial was at Woodbine Cemetery. Arrangements are by Terpening & Son Mortuary. She was born in Elwood, Neb. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors Sons, Rodney G. Kirkpatrick of Lubbock and Russell K. Kirkpatrick of Los Lunas, N.M.; daughters, Sue Harwell of Las Cruces, N.M., Ynona Gross of Andrews and Patricia Thames of Lubbock; sister, Delores Smaldone of Lakewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick, 82, died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at her daughters home in Andrews, Texas. Pastor Gerald Harper and Leslie Gross will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Robert Cottrell, Brad Cottrell, Cody Harwell, Eric Kirkpatrick, Kirk Eppers, and Andy Kirkpatrick. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born October 25, 1922 in Elwood, Nebraska; the daughter of LeRoy Wheeler and Anna Jane (Cooley) Wheeler. She came to Artesia in 1952 from Nebraska. She was a Homemaker and member of First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Ruth Brand. Survivors include her sons Rodney G. Kirkpatrick and wife Karen of Lubbock, Texas, and Russell K. Kirkpatrick and wife Emma of Los Lunas, N.M.; daughters Sue Harwell of Las Cruces, N.M., Ynona Gross and husband Leslie of Andrews, Texas, and Patricia Thames and husband Mike of Lubbock; sister Delores Smaldone and husband Jerry of Lakewood, Colorado; grandchildren Robert Cottrell of Corona, N.M., Brad Cottrell of College Station, Texas, Cody Harwell of Artesia, Eric Kirkpatrick of Galveston, Texas, Sara Robinson of Las Cruces, Lisa Colette Reed of Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Carlee Galvan, Jennifer Lee, Lisa Martinez, Kirk Eppers, and Andy Kirkpatrick all of Lubbock; and eleven great-grandchildren.
