The Commercial Dispatch, Columbus, Mississippi, Saturday, August 1, 2009: Aberdeen---Glendred Adelia "Dee" Kirkpatrick, 82, died July 30, 2009, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice in Verona. Services are today at 4 p.m. at Tisdale Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with the Rev. David Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Nelson, Neb., to the late Glen W. Shipley and Pansy Erickson Theobald. She lived in Aberdeen and was retired after 30 years as a sales clerk from Maier's Jewelry. She was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church where she served as president of the Women of the Church for many years. She was a member of the Hospital Auxillary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Beam Kirkpatrick; and brothers, Bruce and Glen Shipley. She is survived by daughters, Billy Dee Henson of West Point, and Nancy Kay Burnett of Amory; sons, Thomas Glen and John Bruce Kirkpatrick, both of Aberdeen, and James Kirkpatrick of Lexington, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Henry Hammack, Andy Allen, Charlie Field, Deedy Harringon, Walter Lann Jr. and Walter Lann III. Memorials may be sent to Faith Presbyterian Church, 210 Meadowview Road, Aberdeen, MS 39730.
