Ardith Eloise Kirkpatrick was born 27 November 1925, in Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin. Ardith married Frank L. Johnson, Jr. at Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois on 16 June 1945.

She was born November 27, 1925 in Racine, Wis. the daughter of Phillip G. and Lora Dickerson Kirkpatrick. She married Frank L. Johnson, Jr. on June 16, 1945 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1996. She is survived by a son, Daniel L. (Jill) Johnson of Gerlaw, Ill.; a daughter, Diana L. Ralston of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Donna R. Church of Elk River, Minn. and Phyllis A. Decker of Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren; three great grandsons and a great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son. David H. Johnson in 2002 and two brothers. Ardith worked as a secretary for the Newcomer Greeting Service for several years and for Family Planning Services for 11 years. She retired in 1987. She graduated from high school in Elvaston, Ill. in 1943 and attended Carl Sandburg College. She was a member of the DAR-Rebecca Parke Chapter and the Pilot Club. She was a former member of the League of Woman Voters and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Ardith enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling and photography. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. David Parker will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
