Walter Wills Strong

Press Telegram, Long Beach, California, Thursday, July 9, 1964, Page 27, Col. 4: Rite Slated Saturday for Strong. Funeral service for Walter W. Strong, 83, Long Beach dietitian, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Patterson and Snively Mortuary. Strong, of 5801 Garford St., died Wednesday. A resident of Long Beach since 1923, he served as deputy city assessor during the 1930's and was active in church and civic work. He had worked as a dietetic health specialist, wrote a book called "The Secret of Good Health, " and lectured on health and diet practices. Surviving are sons, Revs. Dr. Robert and Dr. William T.; a daughter, Mrs. Laura K. Hodges, and sister, Mrs. C. H. Hibbard. Police said Strong took his own life. He left a note indicating he had been in poor health.
