Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, March 3, 2010: Platteville, Wis. -- Boyd R. Williams, 75, of Platteville, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, with the Rev. John Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born on Jan. 6, 1935, in Mifflin Township, Iowa County, son of Gomer and Mildred (Ludwig) Williams. He was married to Nancy Shockley. Boyd worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for more than 30 years, retiring on Feb. 28, 1992. He also drove a milk truck for Vernelle Klein and worked for Digman Farms and for Daleo Manufacturing in Platteville. After his retirement, Boyd enjoyed driving cars for Jerry Roh at Roh's Auto Mart. Surviving are his three children, Jannice (John) Flanagan, of Oregon, David (Joann) Williams, of Livingston, and Karen Williams, of Oregon; five grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley Kartman) Flanagan, Travis (Nicole) Williams, Justin Williams, Kyle (Amanda Clayton) Flanagan and Tyler Flanagan; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Flanagan, and another great-grandchild due in weeks; and his dog and companion, Bubbles.
