Glenn Robert Morritt

On the 1920 U. S. Census of Kenosha, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, Glen Morritt appears with his wife Mary and daughters Meredith, age 7 and Virginia, age 5 months. The census was taken in January.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Kenosha, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, Glenn R. Morritt appears with his wife Mary J. and daughter Virginia R. Glenn is a building carpenter. Glenn and Mary were married when they were 21 years old.

Kenosha News, Kenosha, Wisconsin, Tuesday, January 5, 1971, Page 8, Col. 8: Glenn R. Morritt, 81, 6340 10th Ave., died at Memorial Hospital this morning following a short illness. He was born in Darlington, Wis., on Jan. 1,1890, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William W. Morritt. He spent his early life and received his education there. He came to Kenosha to make his home in 1916. On Jan. 5, 1911, at Belmont, Wis., he married Mary Kirkpatrick.

Prior to his retirement in 1956, Mr. Morritt was a carpenter and builder for many years. He was a member of First Congregational church, a 55-year member and past president of the United brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Local 161; past president of the construction Trades Council, and trustee of the Carpenters' Vacation Pay until his retirement last October 1.

Survivors besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Albert E. (Meredith) Shipley, Kenosha, and Mrs. Wilmer (Virginia) Spitzer, Yakima, Wash.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a brother, William D. Morritt, Darlington.
