Winslow Mail, Winslow, Arizona, Wednesday, November 13, 1991, Page 3, Col. 6: Services for Erwin Dee Heward, 62, who died on Thursday, Nov. 7, 1991, at his home in Rio Linda, Calif., were on Nov. 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Woodruff. Mr. Heward was born and raised in Woodruff to Henry Vernon and Eunice Heward. He graduated from Holbrook High School in 1947. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years retiring in 1968 as a tech sergeant. While in the service, he was stationed in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Turkey. In Germany, he participated in the Berlin Air Lift. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. He married Nellie Kirkpatrick of Phoenix on June 7, 1958. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bruce of San Bernardino, Calif., Donald of Tacoma, Wash., and Vernon of Rio Linda; one daughter, Debra of Rio Linda; three brothers, Kent and Dick, both of Woodruff, and Dean of Lake of the Pines, Calif.; two sisters, Iva Smith of Tempe and Verna Haws of Show Low; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
