Frances "Frankie" E. Clason
(8 Feb 1867 - 19 Aug 1886)
Rochester, Minnesota, August 1886: Miss Frankie E. Clason, aged 19 years died at her home at Stone's Corners of consumption last Thursday, 19 Aug at 5 o'clock. Her sickness has been somewhat protracted, she having been quite feeble for the last eight or ten months, yet nearly up to the time of her death, she was able to take her usual morning rides. All that loving parents, kind friends, and medical skill could devise was done for her, but alas, without avail. ‘Tis said death loves a shining mark; it lays it ruthless hand on the beautiful and lovely, the good and cherished ones. Frankie was the idol of her fond parents, the loved one of an older brother, a bright star in the constellation of youth in our community. To her was but to love. She was ever modest and reverential to the aged, and cheerful and active with her young companions. As a scholar, she was always loved by her schoolmates and respected by her teachers. She will be missed by a larger circle of sympathizing friends.
