Greeley Tribune, Greeley, Colorado, February 25, 2002: Lillian E. Musil, 79, of Eaton died Sunday, Feb. 24, at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1922, in Bertrand, Neb., to Victor and Esther (Ericson) Johnson. On June 21, 1946, she married John Musil in Loomis, Neb. He died June 9, 1997. She was a former resident of Holdrege, Neb. She attended Bertrand High School and then went to Kearney State Teachers College and Trinity College in Chicago. She started teaching in rural high schools at age 17 and was a substitute teacher and teachers' aide for 11 years in Eaton schools. She was a postal clerk for five years and was postmaster for five years in Lucerne. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, where she was on the Deacon and Missions boards. She was also a Gideon, taught Sunday School and was a leader for the Pioneer Girls and the Good News Club. She enjoyed painting landscapes. Survivors are two sons, Ed Musil of Greeley and James Musil of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Janice Hemingson of Woodland Park; two brothers, Duane Johnson of Bella Vista, Ariz., and Milford Johnson of Holdrege, Neb; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Virgil, Oliver and Clarence Johnson, and two sisters, Doris Musil and Maurene Johnson. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton. Interment will be at Moses Hill Cemetery in Nebraska.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Macy Chapel of Allnutt Funeral Service.Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton or to Gideons International in care of the funeral service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
