Resident of Dutchtown, La., aged 70, a native of Marion County, Miss., graduate of Mississippi College. He was a plant manager and chemist for Armour & Co., New Orleans, and formerly at Wilmington, N. C. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Downs Watts; three daughters, Mrs. W. A. Shaw, Zachary, Mrs. Vernon Taranto, Dutchtown, and Mrs. William Kirkpatrick, Pineville; his mother, Mrs. J. L. Watts, Improve, Miss.; four brothers, Nathan L., J. L. and Carroll Watts, all of Improve, and Jack Watts, Jackson, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Porter, Improve, Mrs. Winnie Bickford, Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Iva Robbins, Bunker Hill, Miss., and Mrs. Ruby McCullough, Gross, Miss.; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was a member of the Louisiana Orchid Society and a former vice president of the New Orleans Astronomical Society.
