Posted at findagrave.com: Fred was born on April 19th, 1938 to Florence E. and Arthur P. Heston in Keokuk, IA. Fred graduated from Keokuk High School in 1956 and was stationed in Korea in the early 60's with the Armed Forces. After he was discharged from the service, he worked and lived in Keokuk, IA until 1965 at which time he transferred to Iowa City, IA where he met and married his wife Gloria (Djerf) Hemsted in 1973. Fred worked for Sheller Globe for many years early in his career and then retired from the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinic's Central Sterilizing Department in 1998 after 22 years of service. After retirement Fred moved to Nashville, IL with his wife Gloria and lived on their "Ponderosa" for 10 years. Fred then moved to Cape Coral, FL so he and Gloria could enjoy retirement in paradise. Fred was loved dearly by all his family, friends, co-workers and pets. Fred was proud to be a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Doris Trout (Robert) and Annette Benedict (Gene), and son Scott Hemsted.
