Marlin (SPL)---Johnathan Edward (Jack) Pool of Marlin died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in a Marlin hospital. He was 64. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today in Adams Chapel in Marlin. Rev. H. Chad Murray and Rev. H. W. Koenig will officiate with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Pool was born in Lott and attended Lott High School. He graduated from Toby's Business College at Waco. He worked at the Oil Well Supply Co. in Fort Worth from 1914 to 1917. In 1919 he married Miss Laurene Aycock of Minerva and then moved to Lott in 1920.
Mr. Pool was associated with an auto agency and later worked for the Lott State bank. In June of 1924 they moved to Marlin where he began working for the Home Benefit Association which later became the Family Life Insurance Co. He was secretary of the company at the time of his death. He had been active in the Marlin Lodge I.O.O.F. for more than 35 years and had been secretary for 25 years.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. W. Adrian Alston of Marlin; two brothers, C. R. Pool of Marlin and E. C. (Snooks) Pool of Brownfield; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Chapman and Mrs. H. A. Hair, both of Dallas; and five grandchildren.
