The McDonough County Voice, Macomb, Illinois, Tuesday, June 25, 2013: Blanche Butcher, 93, of Macomb and formerly of Schuyler County Blanche Butcher, 93, of Macomb and formerly of Schuyler County passed away at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born on June 25, 1919, in Schuyler County to Otis and Beulah DuPuy Gorsuch. She married Raymond Runkle on Dec. 16, 1939; he passed away on Sept. 17, 1969. She later married Clair Butcher on Jan. 3, 1972; he passed away on June 30, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, son John Runkle, brothers Marshall and Harold Runkle and two nephews. She is survived by step-daughter Vera McCoy of Macomb; daughter-in-law Sandy Runkle of Jacksonville; sister Clela Sprinkle of Littleton; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 17 step-great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; 27 step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Blanche lived her early life in Schuyler County and later in life in Macomb. She worked for the Supervisor of Assessment office in Schuyler County, Post Office in Littleton and Treasurers Office in McDonough County. She was a member of the Littleton United Methodist Church, Ma-comb Deers, Macomb Woman's Club, BPW, DAR and MDH Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with the Rev. Mark Merrill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
