Greensburg Daily News, Greensburg, Indiana, Friday, July 25, 1980: Ross P. Kirkpatrick, 57, former resident of Greensburg, died suddenly at his home in Indianapolis Wednesday. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born June 9, 1923, in Greensburg, the son of Cliff and Gladys Kirkpatrick. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1941, served in World War II in the South Pacific theater and the occupation of Japan and graduated from Purdue in 1949, majoring in forestry. He worked for the Indiana State Highway Commission and then 27 years in the Allison Division of Detroit Diesel in Indianapolis. He married Ruth Templeton in 1953 and she survives, with a son, Paul, at home; two daughters: Carol Handley, Des Moines, Iowa, and Diane Gill, Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers: John W Kirkpatrick, Indianapolis and Charles Kirkpatrick, W. Lafayette. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the 30th St. Wesleyan Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Visitation will be held this afternoon from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Flanner Buchanan Chapel on High School Road.
