Maggie Lou Kirkpatrick

Maggie Lou Kirkpatrick was born 1 February 1927 in Walnut Ridge, Lawrence County, Arkansas. On 5 March 1948 she married Randall Max Snow, son of Lee and Ella (Duty) Snow. Max enlisted in the Army immediately after graduating from high school and served in the Army of Occupation in West Germany following World War II. He reenlisted during the Korean War, but stayed in the United States and did not see combat.
Max became a funeral director in Memphis, Tennessee. he was in charge of the Elvis Presley burial, and thereby has helped to lay to rest the rumors that Elvis really did not die. Maggie worked as a seretary for Lytton Company, and later for Denaux. Both Max and Maggie are now retired and live in Memphis, Tennessee.
There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

Max Snow, who preceded her in death in 2001. Maggie worked at several different businesses in Memphis, including an interior design firm. Her keen sense of style was reflected in the decor of her home of over half a century in Memphis, TN.
An active member of the Baptist faith from her youth, Maggie was a devoted volunteer for church activities. She showed her care for others by providing transportation for church members to medical appointments and by visiting the sick and those in nursing homes.
During her most of her life, Maggie was also active in the community, serving on advisory bodies for the public library and the post office. She was a strong support of AARP and once attended its national convention in Washington, DC. She enjoyed traveling, visiting several parts of this country, Europe, the Caribbean, and Tunisia with her husband and later traveling by herself to New Zealand, where she flew in a helicopter to land on a glacier and rode in a "jet-boat."
Maggie was an avid reader and a great lover of music. She played piano, accompanying Max who had a good singing voice. She enjoyed crafts and making things, especially Christmas ornaments for sharing with family and friends. She was an avid correspondent, writing beautiful letters and sending cards on holidays or special occasions to family members and her many friends.
In June 2016, Maggie moved to West Michigan to be closer to family, until shortly before her death she was a resident of Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living in Hudsonville.
Maggie is survived by her son Stephen R. Snow and daughter-in-law Betty Snow of Hudsonville, Michigan; her brother Charles T. Kirkpatrick of The Woodlands, Texas; three grandchildren Randall Snow, David Snow, and Janet (Cruz) Martinez, all of Michigan; six great-grandchildren Alex ,Isabel, Rebecca, James, Eric, and Emily, all living in Michigan; niece Carol (Glenn) Labiosa and nephews Robert (Maggie) Kirkpatrick, Timothy (Leisa) Kirkpatrick, Michael (Cora) Kirkpatrick; and great-nephews and great-nieces John Seamus, Liam, Sean, Ryan, Megan, Shannon, and Molly. Husband R. Max Snow and son Kirk Duty Snow preceded Maggie in death.
A memorial service will be held, 2pm, Saturday March 24 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hudsonville, Michigan.
