She was united in marriage to James Andrew Kirkpatrick, Jr. on 22 May 1945. He preceded her in death on 13 Dec 1982. She married James J. Parey on 2 Jan, 1993. He preceded her in death on 25 Aug 1999. She was a homemaker and an Avon representative for 25 years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was proud to have the distinction of being the mother of the second Wayne Countian to be appointed to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and the first Wayne Countian to be appointed to and graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point. She is the mother of the current mayor of Piedmont. She is survived by one daughter, Bonna Ann (Terry) Harmon, St. Louis; eight sons, James (Sue) Kirkpatrick III, Houston, Texas; Eugene Kirkpatrick, Charles Kirkpatrick, William Kirkpatrick, all of Piedmont; John (Deb) Kirkpatrick, Joseph Kirkpatrick, Matt (Brenda) Kirkpatrick, all of St. Louis, and Robert (Annemarie) Kirkpatrick, Manassas, Va; one sister, Nancy Elayer, Piedmont; 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, J.D. Lester, and two sisters, Beverly Smith and Jeanelle Lester.
