Death
Obituary: Pamela Mary WILSONWILSON, Pamela Mary 21 August 1931 - 1 April 2015 After a two year battle with lymphoma, during which she earned a welcome remission, Pam passed away peacefully on April 1st. Throughout this ordeal she displayed an amazing dignity and fortitude. Pam was born in Victoria, the daughter of architect Patrick and artist Patience Birley. After High School she started as a bank teller before qualifying and working as a X-ray technician at St. Joseph's Hospital. She married Rob in 1961 and by 1965 she was the mother of 3 sons. After a nine year absence in Ontario (7 years) and England (2 years) the family made a welcome return to Victoria in 1974. Pam will be known by many for her love of animals and specifically white, male standard poodles. She had always groomed her own dogs and in 1978 started her home business: Pam's Dog Grooming, which flourished until it closed quite recently. Pam was an accomplished needlewoman and also developed and maintained a magnificent garden at our home on Camelot Road, a home and a neighbourhood which she adored. She is survived by her husband Rob, sons Patrick in Victoria, John (Elizabeth) in Red Deer, AB, Matt (Lori) in St. Albert, AB and 6 grandchildren: Stephanie, Claire, Julia, Nick, Matthew, Kaelam, all of whom will deeply miss her. A private Celebration of Life for Pam was held on Sunday, April 5th, 2015 and a second gathering is being considered for later in the year at St. Michaels University School.
