John Hamblen Taylor

He and wife members of Christian Church at new Bethel.

A genius at carving artistic designs in wood. He was active in civic affairs and an ardent democrat. Elected J.P. in 11/1890 until 1901/2. Was a candidate for Brown County Clerk of the Circuit Court in 1898. He withdrew before the election. Performed many marriage ceremonies. Moved east of Nineveh to a farm in Johnson County in 1902. They lived there until May 20, 1905 when she died.

Lived with sister Catharine and Eleanor after wife's death. In Hamblen township.
