2nd son. Educated at Seaforth, nr. Liverpool; at Rugby; and at Christ Church College, Oxford. Ordained in 1846, he was Curate of Bolton-le-Moors, 1846-49, and of Appleby, nr. Brigg, Lincolnshire, 1849-56. He became Vicat of Appleby in 1856, Prebandary of Lincoln Cathedral in 1880, and Rural Dean of Manlake in 1882. Retiring in 1891, he lived latterly at Halcote, nr. Grange-over-Sands, Lancashire. Died without issue.
