Also spelled Georgeanne. Immigrated to America with her brother and sisters at age 9. They landed in New York after a nine week trip. Her father and stepmother had come over before. They settled in Argyle , New York for a short time. She moved with her father and stepmother to Knox County, Illinois in 1840. They came by way of canal and the Great Lakes to Chicago, then to a fort and trading post; from Chicago to Knox Co. by way of wagon. They stopped on the way west one year in Ohio and some time in Henderson, Knox Co. This info provided by Jay Evans from his father.
