Teacher of grades 1-8 in a two-room school house north of Coolidge KS, one room being a tack room for horse gear. Storms of winter or dust storms blow in, everyone stayed at school until it was safe to ride home. (Yes, there was a barn for the horses during the storms) School spring break was based around wheat harvest times.
