Individual Details
Catherine (Kate) CARR
(Abt 1844 - 8 Nov 1897)
Kate died of “morbus cardis” and “cerebal embolism” at the age of 53.
The Kerry Sentinel published an obituary for Kate on 17 November 1897 which states she died on 8 November 1897 at her residence on Church St. The chief mourners were "Messrs P and J Sheehy, Ballyduff; J Sheehy, T Carr, P Long, T Nolan, R Mahony, P Sullivan (nephews of the deceased); J Carr, chemist, Tralee; N Hudson, M Hudson, J Horgan, P Wall, P D Griffin, J McKenna, T McAuliffe, the Misses Whelan, J Moloney, Michael Sweeney, J McMahon, J Cain, and - (sic) Farrell." It is possible the "N Hudson" is her daughter, Hanora/Nora, although it is surprising that she is not listed first.
