Individual Details

Michael emigrated to the United States in the mid-1880s and ran a saloon on the west side of Chicago before going into the restaurant business. In 1927, at the age of 62, he was shot and killed while returning to his restaurant having withdrawn payroll money from the bank. The four assailants, who were travelling in a car, had pulled up alongside Michael as he was crossing Mather St. at the junction with Halsted St.
