Sadie grew up in Limerick city. She met her future husband, Kerryman Jeremiah Mulvihill, through Jeremiah's turf yard which was located just across the street from Sadie's family home on Clare St. After their marriage, Sadie and Jeremiah moved into the Mulvihill family home in Bedford, where they lived with Jeremiah's mother, Annie. They later moved to Ballybunion where they ran a successful B&B business.
