Individual Details

Thomas (Tom) STACK

(Abt 1855 - 22 Jul 1909)

Tom was a farmer. Although he was born in Gortdromasillihy, the civil record of his first marriage (1877) has him living in Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, Co. Kerry, while the record of his second marriage (1884) gives his address as Ballygoughlin, Glin, Co. Limerick.

Tom's first wife, Nano, was from Gortdromagowna and this may have led to his move to Gortdromagowna in advance of the marriage. It is known he was very supportive of his sister Mary and her husband, Dan, and he gave them his farm in Gortdromagowna following their marriage in 1879. This would have necessitated a move to another farm and a suitable one must have been available in Ballygoughlin, Glin, Co. Limerick. We do not know if family connections in Ballygoughlin were connected with this move.

Thomas died of typhoid fever aged about 54.
