Robert (Bob) P. STACK

(4 Nov 1883 - 20 Nov 1957)

Ellie and Bob farmed in Drommurhur (also spelled Dromurhur), Moyvane.

There is a story about Bob which was was widely known in the area at the time and which gave rise to a popular expression amongst the locals: one day, Bob called to his uncle Mike in Moyvane South to borrow a horse. Mike saw him coming and told his helper, Paddy Pelican, to pretend that he, Paddy, had already been given the loan of the horse. Having been refused the horse, Bob shouted angrily at his uncle, "Shove him up your arse, Uncle Mike", which phrase became part of local lore for generations.
